“White Picket Fence” or “The Tallest Tree” demo

This is an old demo from 2013. I really like this song, but I’m not sure how it should be arranged. I sat on it for too long, and now I don’t know how to play it any more. Time to bring it back to life!

“White Picket Fence” or “The Tallest Tree”

She wakes up
Draws a bath
Makes the bed while he gets dressed
Tailored coat
Blue silk tie
Fix his collar, kiss goodbye

Comb your hair
Wash your face
Make sure everything’s in its place
Lock the door
He works late
Won’t be home til half past eight

The bath was warm
The bed was made
The walls were painted custom beige
Keep it quiet
Modest taste
That’s how she liked it, the old fashioned way

The tallest tree
Looks so strong
Dropping leaves without a sound
Twisted root
Grows entwined
Choking everything inside

The bath was warm
The bed was made
The walls were painted custom beige
Keep it quiet
Modest taste
That’s how she liked it, the old fashioned way

We collect
Sadness so sweet
From the trees that gently weep
Photographs
Things she touched
How she acted, how she looked

The bath was warm
The bed was made
The walls were painted custom beige
Keep it quiet
Modest taste
That’s how she liked it
That’s how she liked it
That’s how she liked it
That’s how she liked it

The bath was warm
The bed was made
The walls were painted custom beige
Peace and quiet
No mistsakes
That’s how she liked it, the old fashioned way
